Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is sublime. My 2025 Game of the Year, it moved me in ways that games just haven’t in recent years.
The Good
The art direction, music, combat, and performances all work in the same direction. It feels grand without losing its intimacy, and the turn-based combat has enough timing and pressure to keep every encounter active.
The Bad
Some late-game systems can feel a little uneven, and a few difficulty spikes ask for more patience than elegance. None of that meaningfully dulled the experience for me.
Final Thoughts
This is the kind of game that reminds me why I love the medium. It is stylish, strange, emotional, and confident enough to let its story land without sanding off the edges.
Rating: 10/10 - Absolute perfection. A must-play.
